SPSA has eight teams in the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Academy Leagues for 2026/27, from U12 to U18, including a girls’ U15 team. These are the ECB’s competitive leagues for cricket academies across the UAE. Our players train all season towards it.
We start the season as defending champions. The SPSA Avengers won U12 Division A last season, and this year our squads are aiming to build on that. You can also see all the tournaments SPSA plays in.

Our U12 and U15 league squads follow a structured season programme built around one idea: prepare, perform, progress. Every session has a purpose, every match gives feedback, and every week should show progress.
31 Aug to 2 Oct
Build the skills, the roles and the team, with four preparation matches so players are tournament-ready
3 Oct to early Dec
Execute the game plan, adapt to match situations and perform under pressure, with a new focus each week.
7 to 31 Dec
Measure progress against the start of the season, work on individual areas and finish with a personal development plan for each player.
The programme is built around the 30-over format (25-over for U12), with training for each phase of the innings: build in overs 1 to 10 (new-ball batting and bowling, attacking fielding), control in overs 11 to 20 (spin, partnerships, dot-ball pressure) and finish in overs 21 to 30 (power hitting, death bowling, pressure fielding).
Alongside skills, players develop across six areas: technical, tactical, physical, mental, game awareness and teamwork.
Team-bonding is part of the plan too, with a mid-season beach/pool training day and a post-season review and celebration.
Our league squads play in a dedicated SPSA ECB jersey, made by Shrey Sports, SPSA’s official jersey partner.
Players can’t apply for an ECB league squad. SPSA coaches nominate them based on how they perform in regular academy sessions and matches.
The coaches look at skill, effort, attitude and how a player handles match situations, all over time, not on a single day. Any player who trains regularly at SPSA can be noticed, and squads are reviewed as players develop.
The best way to get into the pathway is simply to join our regular cricket coaching and keep improving. If you’d like to know where your child stands, talk to their coach.

Whether your child is just starting out or already playing competitively, our coaches will help them develop, and the best performers can earn a place in our league squads.
