Smashing Point Sports Academy (SPSA) is a Dubai cricket academy that has been coaching young players since 2021. We take children who are picking up a bat for the first time and, for those who want to go further, give them a clear route into serious, competitive cricket.
Since we started, more than 1,500 young cricketers have trained with us, and over 500 train with us today.
SPSA was started in 2021 by a group of sports lovers who saw a gap in youth cricket in the UAE. There was no shortage of academies, but very few offered young players a structured, progressive way to develop.
We kept seeing the same thing happen: children would start cricket full of enthusiasm, then quietly give it up a year or two later, whether for schoolwork, another sport or something else entirely. Often it was because their training had no clear structure, or because the game had stopped being fun before they’d had a chance to fall in love with it. We believed young players first needed an environment where they could enjoy cricket and build a real passion for it, and then a clear pathway to grow as cricketers. That idea became the foundation of SPSA.
The UAE climate shaped our plans from the start. With six to seven months of intense heat every year, outdoor-only training means long breaks, so we invested in an indoor venue that lets players train all year round.
Since then, SPSA has grown to centres in Dubai and Ajman, and teams competing throughout the UAE and beyond. But the idea we started with hasn’t changed: help young players fall in love with cricket, then give them a clear path to become the best cricketers they can be.
SPSA is about grassroots development. Our first job is to help budding cricketers find a real passion for the game, because a child who loves cricket will keep coming back, keep practising and keep improving.
Not every young player wants the same thing from cricket. For some it’s a sport they enjoy with friends every weekend. Others set their sights on representative teams and serious competitive cricket. We want to serve both. For the players who want to pursue the game seriously, we support them every step of the way, with the coaching, competition and guidance they need to go as far as their talent and hard work can take them.
We are building SPSA into a complete, end-to-end ecosystem for a young cricketer. Talent alone isn’t enough; a player also needs:
Our aim is that a young player at SPSA never has to look elsewhere for any of these. Everything they need to develop as a good cricketer, and a great one, is in one place.
Every player’s journey with us follows the same idea: fall in love with the game first, then build the skills, then test them in real matches.
Fun, structured sessions for beginners from age 4 that teach the basics and build confidence.
Age- and level-based groups that develop batting, bowling, fielding and game sense, with video feedback so players and parents can see progress.
Selected players move into our Squad program and specialist clinics, with more intensity and closer coaching.
Intra-academy matches, inter-academy tournaments across the UAE, the Emirates Cricket Board’s Academy League, and international tours where players take on local teams abroad.
Our team includes former Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy cricketers, an Oman international, and BCCI- and ICC-certified coaches.
Indoor and outdoor centres in Dubai Investment Park, Oud Metha and Ajman mean training doesn’t stop for summer heat.
SPSA fields eight teams in the 2026/27 ECB Academy League, from U12 to U18, including our girls’ team, the SPSA Falcons.
SPSA players have toured the UK, Sri Lanka and India, playing local teams in Bangalore, Kochi, Trivandrum, Salem and Morbi. Tours give young cricketers a taste of new conditions, new opponents and new cricket cultures.
Every SPSA coach holds first-aid and child-safeguarding certifications.
SPSA is an approved provider for ESM. Over the years we have run after-school cricket programs with schools across Dubai, including:
Cricket is at the heart of SPSA. We also run a smaller badminton coaching program, and our facilities can be booked for cricket, badminton, football and basketball.
The best way to get to know SPSA is to see a session. Book a free trial at one of our centres and meet the coaches.
